Kate Morris is a native Idahoan and Murrow Award winning broadcast veteran with more than two decades of local news experience; she was named President and General Manager for KTVB-TV in Boise in 2018 after previously serving seven years as Executive News Director. Morris focuses on serving the greater good of the community through innovative and engaging storytelling. In her tenure at KTVB, she has placed a concentrated effort on growing audience, revenue and expanding the local news product on multiple platforms.

Most notably, under Morris’ leadership KTVB’s Digital Network saw robust increases in page views, unique visitors and time spent on the station’s website, while social media reach climbed to market-leading new heights. KTVB’s Facebook page has developed into the state’s most popular in any category.

Morris also led the effort to develop and expand the investigative team at KTVB. As the station’s chief journalist, she committed to substantive and accurate journalism focused on quality content, engaging storytelling and enhanced user experience.

Morris is a graduate of the prestigious 2016-17 TEGNA Leadership Development Program and has helped lead her news team to 6 National Edward R. Murrow awards in the past 7 years.

In addition to serving on the Idaho Press Club Board, Morris joined the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2019.

Morris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.  She has been married for 17 years to her husband, Sean. Together they are raising three children, ages 10, 8, and 7.
